Senior GIS Analyst

New Century Software has an opening for a Senior GIS Analyst in Fort Collins, Colorado. This position is subject to a five (5) month probationary term. Upon completion of the probationary term, the Candidate shall be evaluated for a permanent position. The Senior GIS Analyst will be assigned to assist selected Clients with developing their pipeline risk and integrity management programs.

Responsibilities

Remains current with new and existing computer programs, regulations, and philosophies/best-practices related to pipeline risk and integrity assessment, management and mitigation.
Conducts HCA analysis for both Oil and Gas pipeline Clients.
Maintains, improves, and promotes New Century’s GIS and data management products and services.
Solves and troubleshoots common GIS problems and acts as a mentor to junior New Century staff.
Consults with Client to analyze and understand Client’s business needs and determine requirements and which products/services meet those needs.
Prepares special reports for Clients that document and/or make recommendations regarding the results of special projects or surveys.
Establishes and maintains business relationships with imaging and mapping vendors to support the Company's development of new services and software.
Assists Project Manager in delivering successful projects on behalf of New Century Clients. This includes project planning, cost estimation, proposal preparation, scheduling, quality control, delivery and implementation.
Applies practical knowledge of survey, raster imaging, cartography and GIS related to pipeline engineering and operations.
Travel as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Engineering or Geomatics (survey and mapping) or related field from an accredited post secondary institution combined with relevant work experience.
Five (5) or more years of demonstrable experience on multiple advanced GIS projects. Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
Team builder with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong customer focus for building and maintaining Client relationships.
Hands on GIS experience with ESRI software (ArcGIS 8.x-9, ArcSDE and ArcIMS) and/or AutoCAD/MicroStation.
Will be competent in Geospatial software solutions for Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, GIS, and Cartography using programs such as PCI Geomatica and Safe Software’s FME.
Other relevant business experience: Gathering and Transmission Pipeline, GPS, CAD, SQL and Oracle Database
The successful Candidate shall be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and be a self starter that can work with minimal supervision
