New Century Software to participate at the 2011 SGA Operating Conference & Exhibit, July 12 – 14, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL

Tapping into New Century Software’s extensive PODS expertise, New Century’s President Ron Brush has been asked to participate in the Data Integration & Management Breakout Session. This breakout will address managing multiple data sets in an organization for the purposes of pipeline integrity, pipeline operations, and other critical organization needs. Visit Booth 317 to learn how New Century can assist operators by diligently searching, reviewing and scrutinizing documents and records such as as-built drawings, alignment sheets, and specifications, and other related records. By leveraging the power of GIS, New Century can ensure these records are traceable, verifiable, and complete, thus providing the pipeline operators the confidence they are meeting their responsibilities to identify pipeline integrity threats, perform rigorous risk analyses, integrate information, and identify, evaluate, and implement, preventive and mitigative measures.

New Century Software helps transmission pipeline and distribution system operators manage operational risk and make risk-informed decisions by providing leading data management, integration, analysis, and visualization software and services. New Century has partnered with Structural Integrity Associates to implement the NGA/SGA DIMP solution.

New Century Software will co-present with Colorado Springs Utility a case study for DIMP solution at Telvent User Group

Colorado Springs Utility (CSU) will present a case study exploring the challenges and successes of meeting the fast approaching DIMP regulatory deadline at the Telvent User Group Conference on March 30th in Fort Collins Colorado. An early adopter of Telvent’s ArcFM geospatial application, CSU was well positioned with high quality data ready for the assessment and reporting requirements of the new regulation. In collaboration with New Century and Structural Integrity Associates integrity management experts, CSU also completed their compliance initiative by implementing New Century’s Spatial Risk Analyst application and template risk model based on the NGA/SGA integrity management plan. New Century Software selected to present offshore, Deep Sea Viewer, solution at 2011 Rio Pipeline Conference in Rio De Janero, Brazil

New Century will co-present a paper on the complexities of integrity management of deep sea assets. The presentation is titled “Offshore Pipeline Integrity Management in 5 Dimensions” and will demonstrate how a major offshore producer is using New Century's Deep Sea Viewer to manage and access relevant, critical asset information at specific points along a pipeline 7,000 feet beneath oceans surface. Integrated data sets include indirect inspection results, cathodic protection performance metrics, 3D models of the pipeline corridor, multi-beam bathymetry data of the sea bed floor, and ROV digital data from 3 separate cameras. All data is aligned across time (T), latitude (Y), longitude (X), depth (Z), and linear reference stationing (ST), creating the first 5 dimensional integrated asset management application.

Spill Impact Analyst version 3.1 released

New Century Software announces the release of Spill Impact Analyst version 3.1 with new functionality and performance enhancements to the industry’s leading hazardous liquid pipeline and facility spill modeling tool. New functionality includes embedded pool fire modeling capabilities using the ARCHIE algorithm developed by FEMA, D.O.T, and the EPA.

In addition to accurately modeling overland flow, this desktop application now provides Integrity Engineers and Managers the ability to visually see the areas impacted by thermal radiation levels in the event of ignition of pooled volatile hazardous liquids – a hidden consequence that might not be readily apparent under older modeling tools.

Spill Impact Analyst now also includes an Elevation Drape feature which will automatically and quickly calculate a release profile from the pipeline’s centerline and Digital Elevations Models, eliminating the need to manually specify the inflection points or obtain the information from an external data source.

Finally, Spill Impact Analyst v3.1 contains significant performance enhancements that manages the processing and computation time of the model more efficiently, in turn permitting engineers to model larger spill volumes over longer mileage and in much shorter time.

For more information about the capabilities of Spill Impact Analyst v3.1, visit our product page or contact us to request a demo.
