Data Loading

Once a pipeline GIS has been implemented, additional data is often identified that should be added to the GIS database. While it is usually most cost-effective to identify and load all pipeline data during a single phase of the conversion project, sometimes this isn't possible. An example of this would be during a pipeline acquisition, when the acquired pipeline must be merged into an existing pipeline GIS.

New Century Software has the expertise and resources to load new pipeline data into an existing GIS database with the same quality and care given to implementing a new system.

Pipeline data can be loaded to your existing GIS from a variety of sources:

  • Legacy database
  • Legacy GIS
  • In-line Inspection data
  • Close interval survey data
  • Direct assessment data (ICDA & ECDA)
  • GPS
  • CP data
  • Risk assessment results
  • HCA analysis results
  • Operating pressure and flow rates
  • Right-of-way data
  • DOT required inspections (ROW, rectifier, overpressure devices, waterway crossings, etc.)
  • Land use
  • Soil classification
  • Tax boundaries
  • One call data
